Full squads will be allowed to attend games from tomorrow, when the country returns to Level 3 of the government's 'Living with Covid-19' restrictions.
Minister of State for Sport and the Gaeltacht Jack Chambers confirmed the news this afternoon on Twitter, writing that "full panels will be permitted to attend on match days when Ireland moves to Level 3 from tomorrow".
It means that Dublin and Cavan will be able to bring their entire panels to Croke Park on Saturday for their All-Ireland SFC semi-final, as will Tipperary and Mayo the folllwing.
The move follows calls from John Kiely, James Horan and Liam Cahill recently, with the Limerick, Mayo and Waterford bosses all pushing for their extended squads to be able to be present on Jones' Road for the All-Ireland series this month and next day.
"The only thing I would demand is that the extended panel and the rest of the backroom team should be let in, which is what, 10 or 15 people max, for each squad," said Waterford manager Cahill on Saturday night.
"That would be a massive plus if that was allowed."
Davy Fitzgerald echoed the calls on last night's Sunday Game programme, adding that "having to tell my 10 players they couldn't come [to games], you have no idea. Picking the team is easy.
"From last December, January when you start training, you have 36 players. They give so much all year, they work so hard."
Elsewhere, Ciaran Branagan and David Gough will referee next weekend's All Ireland SFC semi-finals.
The Down official will officiate the David and Goliath clash of Cavan and Dublin, while Meathman Gough will take Mayo versus Tipperary.
