The writs for the Dublin Central and the Galway West bye-elections have been moved in the Dáil.
Fine Gael's Emer Currie moved the Dublin Central writ for the bye-election to fill the vacancy created by the departure of former minister for finance Paschal Donohoe.
The second vacancy in Galway West arises from Catherine Connolly's election as President of Ireland last year.
After moving the writ for Galway West, People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett said "get the posters up".
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage James Browne will sign the election order tomorrow morning which will confirm Friday 22 May as polling day.
It is expected that the close of nominations will be 1 May.
