A henna artist from Dublin has spoken about how decorating her body helped her to deal with self-harm scars.
Gráinne Jones, from Irish Henna in Temple Bar, struggled with depression as a teenager.
While she was in hospital she began drawing on herself in a bid to stop herself self-harming.
"I was able to focus on something else and focus on putting a beautiful thing onto my body rather than destroying my body," she said.
The 22-year-old's Instagram page, 'Irish Henna', now boasts more than 15,000 followers.
"I can get out of bed in the morning now because I have something to do. I have henna to do. It's what keeps me well. It's what keeps me healthy in that moment," she said.
