A small Co Kerry school that last week said it needed to enrol one more pupil to retain its two teachers has enrolled two new pupils.
The family of the two pupils contacted the principal of Scoil an Ghleanna after seeing the RTÉ News report.
The family recently moved to the area.
The Iveragh Peninsula Gaeltacht school, which looks out over Sceilg Mhichíl, along with two other small rural schools, made history last week when they became the first primary schools here to switch from Catholic to multi-denominational status.
The schools did so amid fears for their survival as part of an effort to become more attractive to parents.
The two other schools, Tahilla National School also in Co Kerry, and Lecarrow school in Co Roscommon have just eight pupils each enrolled.
Principal of Scoil an Ghleanna, Sorcha Ní Chatháin, told RTÉ News the school was "delighted to welcome its 15th and 16th pupils".
She said the school would "welcome more enrolments".
