Three boys driving a tractor through a Co Meath town late last night were stopped by gardaí.
In a post on the Meath Crime Prevention Facebook page, gardaí said the John Deere tractor was stopped by patrolling members of the traffic unit at around 12.30am as it drove through Trim town.
The post said a 12-year-old boy was found to be driving the tractor. He was accompanied by two others, an eight-year-old and a 15-year-old.
It is understood the lights of the vehicle were not switched on.
All three boys were taken to Trim Garda Station and their parents were contacted.
The Facebook post added: "We know young farmers love driving tractors, but they have to wait until old enough to be properly licensed."
