An investigation is under way after petrol bombs were thrown at two houses in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The attacks are believed to be linked to an ongoing feud between criminal gangs in the town.

A window was broken in the first incident at a house in Ashleigh Heights at around 12.20am.

In the second incident, which occurred at around 4am, a petrol bomb was thrown through the window of a house in Springfield Court.

There were no injuries in either incident.

The attacks come less than 48 hours after a man was injured in a shooting in Hardman’s Gardens on Thursday, in what gardaí are treating as attempted murder.
