Watch: Young designer says sustainable practice 'a must'

A young designer has said people wishing to work in the fashion industry have no option but to think sustainably when it comes to their designs.

Méabh Keogh is about to graduate with a degree in fashion and sustainability from the Limerick School of Art and Design. She says that studying the course opened her eyes to the ways the fashion industry is polluting the environment.

The fashion industry accounts for 8-10% of global emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.

Méabh says sustainability is now at the heart of everything she creates and that she will take that with her as she embarks on her career.
