A yacht inspired by the explorer Ernest Shackleton is set to become a "floating classroom" for young people to explore the ocean.
The 'Spirit of Shackleton' is a 70-foot former Clipper Race yacht which has been transformed into a platform for ocean science, youth leadership and global expeditions.
The Atlantic Shackleton Global Foundation said the vessel will support research partnerships and training programmes in Ireland, Europe and around the world.
