Ruadhán MacCormaic named new editor of The Irish Times

Ruadhán MacCormaic has been appointed editor of the Irish Times, succeeding Paul O'Neill.

Mr MacCormaic has been assistant editor since 2017.

He has previously served as Foreign Affairs Correspondent, Legal Affairs Correspondent, Paris Correspondent and Migration Correspondent.

Mr MacCormaic is the author of 'The Supreme Court'.

The organisation announced he will take up the role on 26 October.

Mr O'Neill announced in August that he was stepping down after five years in the job.
