A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his wife in their home in Finglas, Dublin.

Diego Costa Silva was remanded in custody to appear in court again next Friday.

Fabiole Camara De Campos was found fatally injured last Thursday morning in an apartment in Charlestown in Finglas.

The 32-year-old, who was originally from Brazil, had serious head and neck injuries.

This morning her 32-year-old husband appeared before Dublin District Court charged with her murder.

Detective Sergeant Louise Mc Hugh of Finglas Garda Station said the accused made no reply to the charge.

Judge Grainne Malone granted legal aid and recommended a psychiatric assessment.

Mr Costa Silva was remanded in custody to Cloverhill Prison.

He will appear before court again next Friday via video link.
