Reverand David Bruce will become the new Moderator of the Presbyterian Church this evening.
The event will be live-streamed from the Assembly Buildings in Belfast, on what would have been the Opening Night of the denomination's General Assembly.
The event is usually attended annually by around 900 people however Covid-19 has meant just four people will physically be in attendance.
Rev David Bruce will be the 175th person to hold the office of Moderator.
Mr Bruce, who lives with his wife Zoe near Lisburn, will be the first Moderator in over 20 years to come from a position outside of parish ministry.
The Presbyterian Church in Ireland has just over 210,000 members belonging to 534 congregations across 19 regional presbyteries throughout Ireland.
