A 15-year-old Irish boy has died after falling from a wall on the Spanish island of Lanzarote.
The Jose Molina Orosa Hospital in Las Palmas confirmed the news this evening.
Local reports say emergency services were called to Avenida de las Playas in the resort of Puerto del Carmen early yesterday morning.
They found the boy with a serious head injury after he fell from the top of a wall.
It is understood the boy, who is from Navan in Co Meath, had suffered cardiac arrest and was revived before being brought to hospital.
He is believed to have been on holiday in the Canary Islands with his parents.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is understood to be providing consular assistance.
