A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man who was found with serious injuries in a park in Tallaght, Dublin.

Ioan Artene Bob, who was originally from Romania, was found in Sean Walsh Park just before 8am on Friday.

The 49-year-old had injuries to his chest and body and was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he later died.

He was last seen in the Moore St area of the city centre on Thursday evening at around 8.30pm.

Gardaí say he was working in the construction industry and that he was a father to a young child who is living in Romania.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 666 6000, or any garda station.
