The State Pathologist Dr Heidi Okkers has completed a post-mortem examination on the body of an 82-year old woman who died yesterday following an incident at her home in Carrigaline, Co Cork, on Sunday.
Gardaí have said the results of the post-mortem examination on Stella Nnadi's body are not being released for operational reasons.
Ms Nnadi was originally from Nigeria but moved to Carrigaline, where she lived with her daughter, around 15 years ago.
A man in his 30s arrested for questioning about Ms Nnadi's death remains in garda custody.
Ms Nnadi was brought to Cork University Hospital yesterday morning and underwent medical examinations for a head injury.
Her condition deteriorated, and she was pronounced dead in the afternoon.
Central to the garda investigation into her death, is an incident at Ms Nnadi's home on Sunday, when gardaí were called to a row.
Ms Nnadi declined medical treatment at the time.
Following that row, a man was removed from the house for a psychiatric assessment. He was brought to Cork University Hospital, from where he was later discharged.
Following confirmation of Ms Nnadi's death yesterday afternoon, gardaí arrested a man in his 30s for questioning.
He has been detained under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.
This allows detectives to question him for a total of 24 hours, excluding rest periods.
Last night, a local crime scene investigation team completed a technical examination at Ms Nnadi's home, while a team of detectives and uniformed gardaí completed house-to-house enquiries in the neighbourhood.
A senior investigating officer has been appointed to oversee the garda investigation and a garda liaison officer has been appointed to keep Ms Nnadi's family informed of developments.
