Man dies after suspected stabbing in Cork city

A man in his 30s has died after a suspected stabbing incident in Cork city
The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination

A 31-year-old man has died after a suspected stabbing incident in Cork city yesterday evening.

It is understood the man managed to make his way back to his apartment in Camden Court in Carroll's Quay having been stabbed in the Shandon Street area of the city at about 7.30pm.

Emergency services were called to scene. The man was later pronounced dead by a local GP.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination and the man's body remains at the apartment.

The Office of the State Pathologist has been contacted.

A post-mortem examination will determine the course of the garda investigation into the man's death.
