A new mental health online information resource for young Travellers has been launched by the Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre.
YoungPavees.ie points younger members of the community to services whose mental health has been impacted by racism, discrimination, drug issues and unemployment.
The website was created following workshops with young Travellers who gave feedback to create the resource which is titled 'Mind Your Nuck'.
Clinical information was developed in consultation with the HSE and mental health voluntary groups.
The website also offers information for Traveller parents and contacts that can help them support their children.
Users can explore content with their smartphone and the information in available in listening mode which addresses literacy issues but also privacy issues, according to Pavee Point.

Pavee Point's mental health co-ordinator said the tragic deaths of young Travellers around the country in recent months have sent shockwaves through the community. Traveller parents are worried for their children’s mental health, according to Patrick Reilly.
Living conditions, education and employment opportunities, discrimination and racism are impacting on young Travellers and these issues need to be addressed, according to those behind the website.
Chairperson of the Eastern Region Traveller Health Unit (THU), Martina Queally, said the website presented an innovative solution to addressing Traveller mental health inequalities.
"It also will support implementation of key actions in the forthcoming National Traveller Health Action Plan," she said.
