Olympic bronze medal winner Aidan Walsh said it feels "surreal" to be home after being in "a bubble for the past six weeks".

Arriving in Dublin Airport this afternoon, he said "this is amazing, I just feel extremely lucky".

He said "the whole team deserves medals and I'm just one of the lucky ones. I'm overwhelmed".

Using crutches, because of a fractured ankle, he said his spirit was lifted by the homecoming and he is trying to soak it all in.

"This doesn't happen every day, it will take a few days to sink in."

He said he is looking forward to getting to his caravan, going fishing and getting a Chinese meal.

Aidan Walsh said he is looking forward to a bit of normality after a crazy three years.

"This is something I will remember for the rest of my life," he added.
