Thousands of people are attending the annual Africa Day event in the Farmleigh Estate in Dublin's Phoenix Park.

Organised by Irish Aid, the event aims to raise awareness of "Ireland's engagement with Africa".

The free, but ticketed, event runs until 6pm.

Three music stages are featuring acts including Kila, the Discovery Gospel Choir, Libyan-Irish singer Farah Elle and the Malawian-born Irish rapper Pop Dogg.

African community groups and developmental NGOs are also taking part.

Other events are also marking Africa Day around the country, including Cork, Limerick, Kilkenny and Waterford.
