Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly has announced an additional €4m to keep homeless services open in Dublin until the end of the year.
Mr Kelly is making the allocation of extra funding in light of the rising problem of homelessness in Dublin.
The money will be allocated to Dublin City Council, which oversees the homeless services for all four local authorities.
This will be in addition to the council's normal homelessness allocation for 2014.
