A man will appear in court in Cork in the morning charged in connection with the robbery of a 70-year-old man of his life savings in the city last Sunday.
A second man, who was also being questioned by gardaí in connection with the incident in which a man impersonated a garda and then snatched the pensioner's savings, was released this evening without charge.
A file is due to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
