Dublin District Court - Two charged over shooting

Two men arrested after they fired on gardaí and fired a shot into a house in Dublin at the weekend have been charged with firearms offences.

The two were due before Dublin District Court this morning.

The men, aged 25 and 32, were arrested after a shot was fired into a house on Keeper Road in Drimnagh on Saturday night.

Gardaí say a woman inside the house was uninjured.

They say she had no connection with criminal activity and the gunmen shot at the wrong house.

They were subsequently arrested on St Peter's Road after they shot at pursuing gardaí as they tried to escape.

A loaded pistol thrown from the car was found nearby.

The two men were each charged last night with possession of a gun.

They were being detained at Sundrive Road and Crumlin garda stations pending today's court appearance.
