A PSNI officer has been shot and killed in the Craigavon area tonight.
The incident is understood to have happened near Lismore High School at Brownlow.
Police came under attack while investigating suspicious activity near the school.
A spokesman for the PSNI said: 'We can now confirm that one police officer has died following a shooting incident that occurred shortly before 9pm in the Lismore Manor area of Craigavon.'
The latest killing will further raise fears that political stability in Northern Ireland could be threatened following the shooting of soldiers at the Massereene Barracks late Saturday, the first of its kind in 12 years.
