Husband charged with Howth murder

The husband of Celine Cawley, who was found dead at her home in Dublin last week, has been brought before Dublin District Court charged with her murder.

51-year-old Eamonn Lillis of Windgate Road in Howth was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court tomorrow morning.

Ms Cawley, 46, was found lying on the back patio of her home on Windgate Road with serious injuries last Monday morning.

She was pronounced dead a short time later in hospital.

After 24 hours detention and questioning, the Director of Public Prosecutions directed Mr Lillis be charged with the murder of his wife.

The couple have a 16-year-old daughter, Georgia.
