The jury in the Rebekah Kiely inquest has returned a verdict of unlawful killing.

The Dublin teenager died in November 2006 after she was hit on the head by a baton during a row between a number of men.

The jury found that 15-year-old Rebekah from Castleknock was not directly involved in the altercation.

The jury found that the events had been influenced by the excessive consumption of alcohol by the rowing parties and recommended more stringent enforcement of the country's licensing laws.

Afterwards, Rebekah's family said they were pleased with the outcome.

Dublin City Coroner's Court heard evidence today that the school girl was injured after two men attacked another teenager.

The incident outside a GAA club on Dublin's Navan Road led to subsequent charges against two men.
