Gardaí have made two further arrests in the investigation into the kidnapping of a bank official's family as part a robbery at a bank in Co Dublin.
Both men are in their 30s and were arrested in the Finglas area of Dublin.
This brings to nine the total of people currently in custody in relation to this investigation.
Gardaí have also identified the location where the bank official's family was held captive as part the robbery in Balbriggan.
The family of Ger Smith, an assistant manager at the Bank of Ireland branch in Balbriggan, were taken from their home in Swords to a mobile home in Moynalty in Co Meath on Wednesday night.
On Thursday morning, Mr Smith was driven from there to the bank and ordered to withdraw over €500,000. Mr Smith's wife and two sons were later released.
The mobile home is being forensically examined this evening.
Following the robbery it is understood gardaí gave chase to a number of vehicles.
One car was stopped in Julianstown, Co Meath and a second car was recovered just outside Drogheda, Co Louth.
Conroy insists worker safety is garda priority
Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy has moved to reassure people working in banks, post offices and other financial institutions that their health, welfare and safety is the priority of gardaí.
Mr Conroy was speaking at a garda graduation ceremony in Templemore.
The Commissioner described the arrests in connection with the investigation into the robbery as significant.
However, Mr Conroy said it would take some time to gather sufficient evidence to bring people before the courts.
It is understood that gardaí are investigating any possible links between yesterday's robbery to other recent kidnappings of bank officials.
Searches are expected to continue throughout the day in the hunt for the ransom money and all those involved.
Supt Kevin Donohoe said the primary objective was to resolve the situation without loss of life, and said gardaí were happy to have achieved that.
