Residents protest at Stringfellow club

A group of local residents from Parnell St have been protesting at the opening of nightclub owner Peter Stringfellow's new strip club in Dublin.

They say the club will affect their quality of life.

They say they are concerned about the type of people it will attract into the area.

They say the club is near a school and a senior citizens flats complex.

The residents attempted to block the club in the courts but were unsuccessful.

They carried posters saying 'No sleaze in our area'.

Among the protestors were members of the group Ruhama, who work with women in the sex industry.

Stringfellow's club will be one of the biggest nightclubs in the city, employing around 100 women to dance at tables and on stage.
