The burial of Nazi-hunter Simon Wiesenthal has taken place in Herzliya, in Israel.

Mr Wiesenthal, who waged an untiring campaign to track down Nazi war criminals, died last Tuesday. He was 96.

A former concentration camp inmate, his best-known success was the discovery in Argentina of Adolf Eichmann, the man Adolf Hitler entrusted with carrying out the genocide programme against the Jews.

A memorial service was held in Vienna, where he died, on Wednesday and a funeral service yesterday before his body was brought to Israel last night.
