The five sisters and the fiancée of the murdered Belfast man, Robert McCartney, are back in Ireland from their trip to the United States.

They have arrived at Dublin Airport from where they will travel on to Belfast.

On leaving Washington, they said they wanted to see leadership in Ireland and Britain to break down what they called 'a wall of silence' around the killing created by the IRA and Sinn Féin.

The six women went to Washington to seek support for their campaign to ensure that Mr McCartney's killers are prosecuted.

They met the US President, George W Bush, on St Patrick's Day and also had talks with four prominent US senators.

Senators Ted Kennedy, Hilary Clinton, Chris Dodd and John McCain have sponsored a Senate motion condemning Mr McCartney’s murder and the attempts of the IRA to cover up the crime.
