A 25-year old man was found dead in his cell at a garda station in Co Cork late on Thursday night.
He was arrested on an alleged drink driving offence by gardaí in Youghal at around 9.45pm. He was found dead at around 11pm.
He was the second person to be found dead in a garda cell during Christmas week.
Father-of-six John Delaney was found dead in his cell in Kilkenny City Garda Station on Tuesday morning.
Gardaí ruled out suspicious circumstances in relation to the death.
