Gardaí investigating the death of a 32-year-old mother of three in Tralee last week have charged the woman's brother with her manslaughter.
At a special sitting of Kenmare District Court this evening, 25-year-old Robert O'Brien of 6 St John’s Park in Castleisland in Co Kerry was charged with the manslaughter of Elizabeth McCarthy.
He is a brother of Ms McCarthy, whose body was found in a river near the town last Wednesday morning.
He was remanded in custody on the application of Superintendent Pat Sullivan.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the death has been released without charge.
A file on his case will be sent to the DPP.
