Dublin-born woman awarded OBE

Dublin-born woman, Christina Noble, is among those featured in the British New Year's honours list.

Ms Noble, who set up her own foundation for street children in Vietnam, has been awarded an OBE.

Among those who also appear are Gerry Loughran, who was the first Catholic to head up the Civil Service in the North. Mr Loughram receives a knighthood.

Ulster Unionist honorary secretary, Jim Rodgers, who served as the city's Lord Mayor during 2001/2, is also awarded an OBE.
