The father and an uncle of the man convicted of murdering the journalist Veronica Guerin have both been jailed for money laundering by the Special Criminal Court. Kevin Meehan, who's 61 and from Stanoway Road, Kimmage, in Dublin, was sentenced to five years on six counts of laundering almost £100,000 on behalf of his son, Brian Meehan. Brian Meehan's uncle, 51-year-old Thomas Meehan, was jailed for three years, with the final year suspended.
