Ingredients

Serves: 8, very generous portions

  • 275g plain chocolate
  • 275g butter
  • 175g plain flour
  • 1tsp baking powder
  • 325g caster sugar
  • 4 large Irish farmhouse eggs, lightly beaten
  • 80g white chocolate
  • 80g milk chocolate
  • 80g toasted nuts (Hazelnuts, walnuts, pecan nuts)
  • Serve with Irish strawberries and cream

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180c
  2. Line a shallow 8"x 10" baking tin with greaseproof paper
  3. Put the plain chocolate and butter in a bowl and melt over a pot of water
  4. Mix the flour and baking powder together
  5. Add the sugar to the melted chocolate and butter mix, allow to cool slightly
  6. Add the eggs to this mix
  7. Fold in the flour mix in stages
  8. Fold in the chocolate chunks and nuts
  9. Bake for 20-25 mins until the top is baked but it remains gooey inside
  10. Chill and cut after.
