Embarking on a trans-Atlantic relocation with a toddler and a baby sounds pretty stressful at the best of times. Imagine having to do it in the middle of a global pandemic, with very little notice and not knowing for sure if your plane would even take-off. That’s an experience that takes time to process and Donal Skehan has just about decompressed, a month later.

Donal and his family are now based at home in Dublin but began the pandemic living in Los Angeles, with plans to maybe move home during the summer. An escalating situation put pressure on them to up sticks sooner than they’d anticipated and with that, a whole host of stresses came barrelling down upon them.

On this ep of the You OK? podcast, Donal talks about the strategies that have helped him to get back to an even keel, the mood-boosting benefits of an early morning walk, and how even he sometimes hasn’t a clue what to cook for dinner.
