ExWell Medical is an established chronic illness rehabilitation programme that has recently launched its home-based programme. Each week on RTÉ LifeStyle, the team are sharing a series of workouts that can be done at home - no gym equipment necessary.
In this video, we are completing a floor-based exercise routine with Aodhaghan O'Deasmhunaigh. With these exercises, we will be focusing on the muscles of the core and the hips; these muscles are really important for balance and stability as well as spine health.
If you have difficulty getting down or up off the floor, these exercises might be too difficult, and you can do the chair-based exercises in a previous video we posted.
If any of these exercises cause you pain or discomfort you should stop. The exercises should be challenging, but they should not cause you any pain.
Each exercise has a harder version and easier version, so find a level that suits you.
