We caught up with Vogue Williams at the RTÉ Autumn launch to find out about her upcoming TV shows, including one about the Irish and our anxiety - she shared her own experience with us. You can watch the video with Vogue above.

Last year, Vogue investigated online synthetic drugs, body dysmorphia, gender dysphoria, and social anxiety issues in her documentary-series On the Edge.

This year, the TV personality is diving into a three part series that will take a look at sperm donation, sugar daddies and, the epidemic of our time, anxiety.

The presenter told RTÉ LifeStyle that she chose the subject of anxiety because she suffers from it herself.

"It was something that I wanted to investigate more and I know that a lot of people suffer from it as well and it's sort of a brushed aside mental illness because people don't really understand it, you can't see it so it was really interesting for me to do."

It seems that anxiety has become a hot topic in society. We asked Vogue if she thought the rise in the disorder was due to the trials and tribulations of modern life or if people were just becoming more open to admitting they were having problems with their mental health.

"I think, with regards to anxiety, first of all I think a lot of people didn't know what it was.

"I didn't know what it was when I first got it in my early twenties and then [also], a lot more people are willing to speak out about it [...] but I also think, yeah, we live in a world of social media, we live in a world of excessive stress and I think that really plays a part in people's anxiety levels.

Vogue's new three-part series will be coming to RTÉ 2 this Autumn. You can check out the channel's promo below.
