The Wolf of Wall Street actor Jonah Hill has gone through a dramatic weight loss journey over the past ten years. He shares the highs and lows along the way.

Two-time Oscar nominee Jonah Hill first shot to fame with hit films The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Knocked Up (2007) and Superbad (2007) where he played the immature but funny guy. His characters were always goofy and quick witted with laid back looks and style to boot.

In 2011, Hill's career took a turn when he starred in Moneyball alongside Brad Pitt. The film earned the Jonah an Oscar nomination for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role' and launched the actor into more serious film roles.

The premiere of Moneyball revealed a slick, slim and suited version of the actor that caught more than a few people's attention. He told ABC News that the transformation was mostly down to diet and the help of a nutritionist.

"He had you write down the things that you like...your favourite food and...it was the menu of a six-year-old's birthday party.

"It was like chicken fingers and pizza and like...absurd things for an adult person to be consuming"

Jonah went on to star in a string of hits including 21 Jump Street (2012), Django Unchained (2012), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) and 22 Jump Street (2014).

His role as Donnie Azoff in Wolf of Wall Street earned the actor an Oscar nomination for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role'.

While the actor's weight fluctuated over the years, it was War Dogs (2016) that saw Jonah gain approximately forty pounds to play the role of Efraim Diveroli when they filmed the movie in 2015.

In an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jonah admitted that it was fellow 22 Jump Street star Channing Tatum that helped him lose the weight.

He told Jimmy:

"I gained weight for this movie War Dogs, and then I wanted to get in better shape and so I called Channing Tatum, and I was like, 'Hey, if I eat less and go to a trainer, will I get in good shape?' and he's like 'Yeah you dumb mother******"

He hilariously revealed that he accidentally sent his food diary to Canadian rapper Drake instead of his nutritionist.

"I was looking later, like an hour later, through my sent messages [because] he didn't email back, he usually says 'OK' or something, and it must have been DR, because it was doctor...and I had sent it to Drake."
