We look back at the life and career of Gay Byrne, the giant of Irish broadcasting who has died aged 85.
The TV and radio icon passed away on Monday, November 4, after a long illness.
Tributes poured in from around the world following the news of Byrne's passing, with RTÉ Radio 1 Liveline's Joe Duffy describing his close friend and colleague as a "broadcasting colossus", while BBC talk show host Graham Norton said he "showed us all how it should be done."
Byrne is survived by his wife Kathleen, their daughters Crona and Suzy, and their families.
