Not even the power of The Beatles could dethrone Ed Sheeran as king of the Irish charts this week with the 50th anniversary release of Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Club held at bay by Ed's latest album ÷ [Divide].
Ed's spends his second week at No 1 and his 13th week in the Top 10 with the release and his second album x also reappears in the Top 10.
The Beatles released a remix of their landmark Sgt,Peppers album to mark fifty years since its first appearance but not even a massive promotional push could help it beat Ed's physical sales, downloads and streams over the past week.
Guns N' Roses' very well-received gig at Slane Castle last week also saw a sales boost for the veteran rockers with their 1987 album Appetite for Destruction jumping 14 places on the album chart to No 7 and their Greatest Hits collection also enjoying a surge.
The only other new entry in the Top 10 album chart is Damien Demsey's new release Soulsun.
