Nearly two thousand people, including Teachtaí Dála (TDs), senators and Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) gathered in Drumshambo, County Leitrim, over the weekend to protest at the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) decision to close the Arigna power plant. Speakers compared the situation to the Nixdorf plant in Bray and said the community was facing devastation.
