One of three recordings made for a report about the SS President Roosevelt departing from Galway.

Interviews with one of the passengers entering the ship. Commentary of baggage searches, and description of the ship and scene at the pier. Sound of ship can be heard during the recording.

The SS President Roosevelt was sent to Galway in late May 1940 to pick up Americans who wanted to come home from the British Isles, following the beginning of the Battle of France.
