Putting on a picture show under COVID-19 restrictions brings joy to neighbours on a Cork street.
Cinemas around the country may be closed due to COVID-19 restrictions but neighbours in Cork found a way to the movies without leaving the street where they live.
Residents of Frankfield Terrace have been enjoying classic films from the comfort of their own street. The screenings were arranged by Cyclone Rep Theatre Company production manager Scott Duggan. He lives on the street and put his skills to use to bring neighbours together while at the same time staying apart. A projector borrowed from the theatre company was used to screen the 1953 musical 'Calamity Jane'. The film was projected on the gable end of a terraced house on the street.
For about an hour and a half, Frankfield Terrace was destracted from Coronavirus restrictions.
Residents took their furniture out onto the street to enjoy the film. Neighbours including Ann Lynch, Con Sheehan and Clare Healy describe on the happiness the screenings have brought to the community at this time.
