COVID-19 and the need to keep a distance has seen teachers and students attend remote school.
Teachers are having to deliver classes remotely to their students. Email and online platforms such as Instagram and Zoom are being used to give live lessons.
At Ballymakenny College in Drogheda, maths teacher Leona Matthews is preparing to take her class online via Instagram Live from her kitchen. Most of the fifth and sixth years in the class are joining with their mobile phones. Online classes allow Leona Matthews to continue teaching and keep in touch with her students.
Teachers have suddenly become pioneers in remote learning.
Ann Marcus Quinn, Lecturer in Technical Communication at the University of Limerick, advises teachers and students to use online tools that already exist.
Student Armand Chirilovici says that the online classes offer a bit of normality.
