The newest arrivals to Dublin Zoo are four Cape Baron or Cereopsis Geese goslings.

The Cape Baron or Careopsis Geese goslings are a rare breed native to Australia but was almost hunted to extinction by European settlers in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Listed as an endangered species, these geese do well in captivity but have proven difficult to breed in captivity.

The four goslings have been moved indoors to warmer quarters and are adjusting well to their new surroundings,

Thriving on a special crumb diet and lettuce.
