Jedward open the doors for the post Christmas sale at Arnotts department store in Dublin.

A number of Dublin department stores including Clery's, Brown Thomas and Arnotts break with tradition and open on St Stephen's Day. Strong trading was reported after the retail stores opened a day earlier than usual for the post Christmas sales. Many shoppers queued for hours waiting for shops to open to catch a bargain. Some people even started queuing on Christmas Day.

Not everyone was on the hunt for a bargain at Arnotts with fans showing up in the hope of catching a glimpse of the singing twins Jedward who performed on Henry Street.

John and Edward Grimes, also known as Jedward, officially opened the Arnotts post Christmas sale.

Mark Limby, general manager at Brown Thomas, says that business has been brisk on the first day of opening after Christmas and the store will consider whether or not opening on St Stephen's Day will become an annual event.
