Microprocessor manufacturer Telectron opens a third Donegal factory in the Gaeltacht area of Gweedore.

Secretary of the Department for the Gaeltacht Liam Tóibín officially opens the new Telectron factory in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht. The blessing ceremony of the new factory is carried out by Very Reverend Hugo Canon Bonner.

The Gweedore plant is the third Telectron factory in Donegal in seven years. The Irish company employs 800 people throughout the country and,

200 people will be involved in this operation.

The new factory manufactures electronic microprocessors. Telectron microprocessors are already used in the Fiji Islands for satellite transmissions.
