For the second time in two months a bomb has exploded outside the BBC offices in Belfast.
The windows of the BBC building were blown out by a 100 pound bomb blast which exploded across the road. The previous bomb did more serious damage to the Broadcasting House building.
The bomb was parked in a baker's van which was hijacked early this morning in West Belfast by four men.
A van had been hijacked and the driver instructed to take the vehicle into the city and park opposite the BBC building on Ormeau Avenue. Once the van was in position, the driver immediately contacted the police. Security forces cleared the area before the bomb exploded at 12.30 pm. There were no casualties but an older woman was taken to hospital to be treated for shock. The broadcast of programmes at the BBC continued uninterrupted by the explosion.
