The 145th exhibition of the Royal Hibernian Academy opens at the National College of Art Dublin.
President Erskine Childers opened the 145th Royal Hibernian Academy exhibition. This year there are 160 works of art including 100 oils, 32 watercolours and the remainder of sculptures.
Among the items are portraits of An Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave and Assistant Garda Commissioner Edward Garvey. Also on show is a sculpture of Michael Collins.
