Documents associated with Fenian Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa can be viewed at the Cork County Library.

The Catholic University of America has presented microfilm copies, running to 4,600 exposures, of the O'Donovan Rossa papers to the Cork County Library.

Cork County Librarian, Padraig Ó Maidin, explains the importance of the collection. The papers relating to Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa are available to researchers at the library reference department at The Courthouse, Washington Street, Cork. The documents provide new insight into many aspects of the Fenian movement in Ireland and America from 1856 to 1920.

These papers are very, very important. For the first time ever, the students of Fenianism in Ireland will have them at their disposal.

Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa was a Fenian leader and member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB). He was born in Rosscarbery in West Cork in 1831. He was dedicated to the establishment of an independent Irish republic and set up the Phoenix National and Literary Society.
