Sea swims and GOAL mile runs for charity and volunteers provide hot meals on Christmas day.

Hundreds, many in fancy dress, took the plunge at The Forty Foot in Sandycove for a Christmas Day swim. raising funds for a wide variety of charities. This was just one of many charity swims to take place around Ireland.

The flagship GOAL mile at UCD was one of seventy two runs raising funds for the aid organisation. GOAL hopes to raise half a million euro this Christmas with runs taking place as far away as Los Angeles and Abu Dhabi.

Around 400 people got a Christmas dinner and a goodie bag at the RDS in Dublin. Volunteers also delivered 1,200 dinners to those in need in their homes in conjunction with St Vincent de Paul. With people from all walks of life coming to help those in need volunteer Declan White suggests that,

Maybe there's a cosmic change happening in Ireland.
